About Me
- Name: Lise Bjorne Linnert
- Location: Oslo, Norway
Lise B Linnert lives and works in Oslo, Norway. Her work embraces various materials and techniques; performance, photography, drawings, textile and installations. Her work has been exhibited domestically and internationally, at places such as: Stenersen Museum, Oslo, Pallant House Gallery, Chichester, UK, The Station Museum, Houston, USA, Charlottenborg Kunsthal, Copenhagen, DK, VISUAL Centre for Contemporary Art, Ireland. Desconocida was in 2012 nominated for The International Award for Participatory Art 2012, Milan, IT. Recurrent themes in my practice are current social or political issues made tangible through personal experiences. My process- and project based work develops slowly, often using years to accumulate material and build its content. Desconocida was initiated in 2006 in response to the critical situation in Juarez, Mexico, where 1600 women since 1993 are known to have been murdered and hundreds have disappeared, suspected kidnapped to trafficking. 4700 individuals have so far participated in the project through 390 globally arranged workshops. By May 2013 more than 6500 labels have been stitched. www.lisebjorne.com
